We deeply respect the work of organizations and communities that advocate for individual rights and challenge societal norms. Many of our members engage with multiple communities, and we welcome those who find value in doing so. While some movements use bold imagery and cultural statements to express their philosophies, Cognesism takes a unique approach. Our focus is on personal empowerment and universal connection, offering a distinct spiritual experience rooted in self-discovery and growth without drawing from traditional religious iconography.
Anyone interested in self-belief, ethical living, and personal growth can explore Cognesism. There are no specific requirements or barriers to entry. Individuals can practice alone or participate in community activities if they choose.

Cognesism encourages non-hierarchical leadership with supportive roles designed to guide and nurture practitioners. Titles such as Luminary, Steward, and Anchor represent individuals who help maintain and support the community. These roles are not authoritative but are intended to foster individual and community growth. For those interested in deeper involvement, there is an outline of an ordination process specifically for Luminary roles, providing a path for those who wish to take on a more guiding presence within the community.
While there are no sacred texts, Cognesism has guiding documents and principles that offer structure for practitioners. These can be tailored to personal needs or local communities and are considered flexible rather than dogmatic.
Cognesism is currently a spiritual philosophy practiced by individuals, though it may pursue formal recognition as a religion in the future if it benefits the community. While we have not pursued a recognized 501(c)(3) status yet, this may be reconsidered as the community evolves and its needs grow.

Cognesism is represented by a distinct symbol that embodies its core ideals. The design features a hexagon with seven circles, each symbolizing one of the Seven Principles that guide our philosophy. At the center, a spiral signifies the continuous journey of personal growth, while connecting lines weave through the shape, illustrating the deep interconnectedness of all life. This darker, minimalist aesthetic reflects our commitment to empowerment, introspection, and the pursuit of self-discovery, intentionally steering clear of traditional religious imagery to maintain a unique and authentic identity.
Yes, activism is a vital part of Cognesism. We encourage practitioners to act against injustice and oppression, supporting autonomy and freedom for all individuals. Our principles promote ethical actions that respect individual rights and well-being.
